As 2021 draws to a close, please take a moment to read this message from our Chair of Trustees.

“As we approach the end of another challenging year, with the pandemic still very much on the horizon, I wanted to update you on the progress we’ve made, despite the difficulties we’ve faced.

Not only has the charity survived, I’m pleased to say it has thrived. I’d like to formally record my grateful thanks to Sharon and Kim, who have done an absolutely outstanding job, showing great versatility and tenacity to transform the way we operate and continue to deliver for our Air Smiles beneficiaries and Aim High students.

As you’ll see from the attached video clip, we’ve been able at various points to undertake a small number of Covid-secure, modified Air Smiles Days. It was obvious the days were even more special for the families, given the challenge of coping with severe, life-limiting illnesses during a pandemic.

Our Aim High programme has undoubtedly seen the greatest transformation with our online delivery and ‘travelling airport’ enabling us to reach far beyond our normal annual target. With out final event taking place on the 9th December, out programme has reached an incredible 3600 people aged 5-25 all around the UK.

None of this would be possible, without our small army of volunteers and supporters, to whom we are enormously grateful. We’ve probably never needed your support as much as we do now, to allow us to continue delivering. If you feel you would like to continue supporting us through this difficult time, please do click on the ‘Donate’ link on our website. Your money really does, and always will, make a difference. Or click here to sign up to our 2022 campaign to donate £2 per month.

On behalf of the trustees and staff, I’d like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year.”
